Hillcrest Champions
At Hillcrest School and Sixth Form Centre, we believe in recognising and celebrating students who consistently demonstrate our values of Work Hard, Be Kind and Aim High.
Our Hillcrest Champions programme celebrates achievement, effort, excellent attendance, positive behaviour and commitment to learning. It gives every student the opportunity to be recognised for making positive choices and taking pride in being part of the Hillcrest community.
There are four key Champion awards:
Hillcrest Champion
A Hillcrest Champion is a student who consistently represents what it means to be a Hillcrest student.
They demonstrate our values of Work Hard, Be Kind and Aim High through their attitude to learning, conduct and contribution to school life.
Hillcrest Champions are positive role models who take pride in their school, make the most of the opportunities available to them and encourage others to do the same.
Attendance Champion
Being in school every day matters. An Attendance Champion demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality and understands the important link between attendance, learning and achievement.
Students are recognised for excellent attendance, as well as for making significant improvements to their attendance.
Our Attendance Champions demonstrate that every day and every lesson counts.
Knowledge Champion
A Knowledge Champion demonstrates a strong commitment to learning and developing their knowledge.
Students can achieve this recognition by working hard in lessons, engaging positively with Knowledge Organisers, completing independent study and demonstrating that they can remember, apply and build upon what they have learned.
Knowledge Champions demonstrate curiosity, resilience and a determination to Aim High.
Zero Champion
A Zero Champion is a student who consistently meets our Getting It Right expectations.
Zero Champions demonstrate excellent conduct, make positive choices and show respect and kindness towards others. They arrive ready to learn, follow school expectations and take responsibility for their actions.
Being a Zero Champion demonstrates that a student consistently makes choices that allow both themselves and others to learn and succeed.
Celebrating Our Champions
Throughout the school year, students have regular opportunities to become a Hillcrest Champion, Attendance Champion, Knowledge Champion or Zero Champion.
Achievements are recognised and celebrated through our school rewards programme, assemblies, certificates and other celebration opportunities.
The Champions programme is designed so that every student has something to strive towards. Whether through attendance, behaviour, knowledge, effort or their wider contribution to school life, we want students to recognise that their choices and achievements matter.
Together, our Champions demonstrate what it means to:
Work Hard. Be Kind. Aim High.
